Our source of Maca Root is cultivated high in the mountains of Peru, in the range of 7,000 - 12,000 ft in altitude.  It is a source of   carbohydrates, phytonutrients, protein, iron, calcium and antioxidants.  Today, Maca root is commonly used powdered and consumed in foods such as raw superfood tonics, smoothies,  desserts and taken as supplements.
