ORGANIC CLEAR AGAVE NECTAR

Agave nectar comes from the Agave plant, a type of succulent which typically grows in desert like climates, such as Mexico and the north western portion of the United States.  There are believed to be over 200 species of the agave plant today.

Superfood Snacks uses an Agave Nectar that is clear, 100% organic, and naturally produced.  

The average serving of table sugar is made up of 50% fructose and 50% glucose.  The average serving of high fructose corn syrup is made up of 55% fructose and 45% glucose.  

The clear agave nectar we use is made up of 48-49% fructose and between 4.9%-8.4% glucose.  The remainder is composed of inulin, which is a prebiotic fiber that may help to promote healthy intestinal flora as well as calcium absorption.   Honey is about 50% fructose.  Other agaves range about 55% to 90% fructose.

Agave nectar has many uses in dessert recipes, teas, raw chocolates, raw food snacks, granolas, shakes, superfood smoothies and more.  Many people love using agave for it’s light flavor, ease of use and sweetness with out the glycemic high that one might normally get when using processed white sugar.
