ORGANIC CHLORELLA POWDER

Chlorella is a microscopic single celled green micro algae that has been in existence for over two and a half billion years.  it is the highest source of chlorophyll known in any green plant.  In fact, the word Chlorella itself, means “small green.” “ Chlor”, meaning green and “ella”, meaning small.  

Chlorella is extremely resistant to extreme changes in environmental conditions(due to its unique cell walls that protect the green algae cell), which may help to explain why it’s been on the planet for so long.  The cell walls of Chlorella are broken for optimal digestibility.  It wasn’t until the 1970’s that the process of doing so was actualized.  

Japan has become the largest producer of Chlorella and has an incredible popularity in the Asian diet.  It is more popular in Japan than vitamin C.  It is harvested in large fresh water ponds and grows best with adequate sun exposure and air.  Chlorella has the ability to proliferate at a rapid rate and can multiply 4 times it’s size within a 24 hour period.  Chlorella is one of my favorite superfoods.

Chlorella is a source of protein and has been found to contain over 50% protein.  It has naturally occurring iron, calcium, and antioxidant properties.  It also contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and dietary fiber.  Many also report that Chlorella provides sustaining energy.

Chlorella may be taken most frequently in powdered form or tablets as a natural whole foods supplement or added in conjunction to raw chocolate, raw snacks, drinks, superfood smoothies, deserts, superfood salads and more.
